Tee Shirt Head Band

Being in the crafty mood I have been in lately I decide to see what I had house to use in my crafts project. I came across an old tee shirt and had remembered seeing something on pinterest about creating a head band out of an old tee-shirt. My first attempt I didn't keep it tight enough and had to restart but after figuring out how exactly to weave the tee shirt strips it came out pretty well. I have uploaded a picture of my final product, as well as the link to the website I used which has step by step instructions and easy to follow pictures.

Birds Nest

So last night I was surfing through pinterest looking at all sorts of crafts and food ideas when I came across something called  a birds nest and was inspired! This morning I woke up ready to give this easy recipe a try, and by all means it was very easy. Pre-heat oven to 375. All you need to make a serving for four: four pieces of toast cut in about 4inch circles and then cut in half, four pieces of bacon cook in microwave for about 3 minutes (will continue to cook in oven) put the bread in a lightly greased muffin pan over lapping each other just a little and reaching up to the top of the muffin pan cup. Place semi cooked bacon in the bread bowl and crack an egg over top. Cook in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until cooked though. And There you have it! A cute little breakfast birds nest! Below is a picture of my birds nest!

Crayon Project

I had recently seen on the web a project that many people were doing where you take crayons and melt them to create a pretty neat effect. So inspired by this technique I decided I would make one and put my soon- to be nieces name on it. I do wish the crayon had run more in certain areas but all in all it was really easy and really cheap to do. I think in total I spent $15 on the entire project. All you need is a canvas, hot glue gun, couple boxes of crayons, a hair dryer and some letters. Glue the crayons on to the canvas in what ever order you want. Most people do it similar to a rainbow. After gluing the crayons down, head outside and blow dry the crayons until you get the desired look. Let dry and then glue on letters! And there you have it! Below is a picture of my final project!

A few of my Favorite things...

Writing, reading and photography are three unique forms of art, however they have a beautiful way of intertwining with each other as well as being a couple of my favorite things to do. They all you to escape reality, capture fleeting moments and create wild tales many never believed imaginable. Today's picture captures these three forms in a unique beauty that truly exemplifies the simplicity, yet distinctly objectifies the true naturalistic essence held deep within the depths of them waiting, longing for someone to find the true magic that lies behind their very being. To me writing, reading and photography are a gift, something that has allowed me to express, escape and capture what is most important to me. How do you capture whats important to you? how do you escape reality or create something that has only existed in your mind? Write it down, take a picture, see where it leads you. You never know what may happen with the write book, pen or camera in your hand....

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Although it has been awhile since I have actually posted anything, and all though most (or all) of my posts on this blog are typically left tucked away unseen by the public, but for the slight chance that someone happens to stumble across my blog I hope you have enjoyed at least the littlest piece of my posts.

However, I have recently decided that this blog needs more of a face lift. A kind of identity change that it will allow it to become more of its own being. My goal is to take this blog from being a depressing black hole of wasted space on the web and transform it into a wondrous place to escape and  explore. This blog was originally created specifically just for my craft needs, however I have developed another hobby that I would like to share and all though its technically still a craft I do find it quite different from my typical hands on crafts. I will be using this blog to post daily pictures that I have captured through out the day and some how incorporate a inspirational response. So I guess you could say that this blog will basically be used to help better me as a writer, photographer, and artist in a sense. But either way it will allow me to "sher" the things in life I do enjoy. just with a face lift and more pictures.

I hope you enjoy the new face of Sher the Love and remember to live life to its fullest.
